The idea for the Gold Coast Dance Alliance started with a simple thought: what if we weren’t all doing this alone?
Owning and running a dance studio is incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel isolating. We spend so much time pouring into our students, organising events, and building programs that there’s not always time to connect with others who understand the same challenges and joys. I wanted to create something different — a space where local studio owners, teachers, and dance professionals could come together, share ideas, and feel supported.
In June 2025, that idea came to life with our very first event: Studio Social: Marketing Your Magic. We gathered at the beautiful Tarte Beach House, shared brunch, and dove into a conversation about marketing with guest speaker Nikita Canning. The response was incredible. There was such a buzz in the room — dance teachers and studio owners meeting for the first time, swapping stories, and people walking away inspired. It confirmed what I had hoped: there’s a real need for connection in our industry.
That first Studio Social was just the beginning. The Gold Coast Dance Alliance is growing, with more events already planned to bring our community closer together. My hope is that this becomes a trusted space for collaboration, inspiration, and support — a reminder that while we all run our own studios and classes, we’re stronger when we come together.
